Erupting Volcanos!

We had our first Junior Scientist event today and the children (and Moms!) had some explosive fun!

We started the event out with a welcome song then settled in to talk about Volcanoes. The kids learned that the molten lava is hot and comes from the earth’s core. We talked about the ash cloud and lava and some more about hot, hot like fire, lava.

Then we created our own volcanoes with (sticky) playdough! The kids has lots of fun pouring and watching the “lava” erupt! A few were a little surprised by the eruption and jumped from their chairs!

The kids got a chance to snack while the moms all helped clean up.

We closed the event with some volcano colouring sheets!
