Oolong Tea for Weight Loss
tea
Oolong Tea, also sometimes spelled as Wu Long Tea, comes from the camellia sinensis plant that is the source of all true tea. Oolong tea definitely helps in weight loss. Oolong tea actually increases metabolism, blocks fat absorption, and burns fat. In essence, it is a natural energizer. It contains polyphenols that help block fat-building enzymes. This young tea is low in caffeine so you can drink it throughout the day for continued results. Research shows that your metabolism will be raised for two hours after every cup of Oolong.

Oolong tea is a very effective fat blocker. In fact, in Asia, many people drink oolong tea whenever they eat greasy and fatty food. At first, this was just a common belief among them, but scientists have since proven that it is indeed a good natural fat blocker. According to many studies, oolong tea's fat blocking effects can, at maximum, double the amount of fat expelled by the body. This along with proper dieting and exercise can produce very good weight loss results!

While oolong tea can definitely assist in losing weight and blocking fat, this is by no means an excuse to keep on eating very fatty foods, or neglecting exercise and proper dieting. It is a good enhancer, not a silver bullet.

Oolong tea reduces bad cholesterol levels. Some studies done in China and Japan have pointed out that drinking oolong tea on a regular basis can revitalize internal organs, and help reduce bad cholesterol levels.

Oolong Tea can be purchased locally at health food, bulk food and grocery stores.

Move of The Month
push plankPush up with Side Plank
Yet another way to spice up traditional pushups is to engage the core even more with an added side plank. By doing a pushup and rotating into a side plank, you'll build strength and endurance in the arms and shoulders, since balancing your body weight on one arm is much harder than on two. The rotation fires the obliques and even the legs work harder to keep you stabilized. For a modification, you can try this exercise on your knees.
  1. Begin in a pushup position, on the hands and toes (or on the hands and knees, if you're modifying). Make sure the core is braced and the body is in a straight line from head to heels.
  2. Bend the elbows and lower into a pushup.
  3. As you push up, rotate to the left, taking the left arm straight up towards the ceiling and rotating the feet into a staggered position (left foot in front and right foot in back).
  4. Hold the side plank for a few seconds, then rotate back to your pushup position.
  5. Do another pushup and, this time, rotate to the right into a side plank, balancing on the left arm.
  6. Continue pushups with alternating side planks for 1-3 sets of 8-16 reps (1 rep includes side planks to the right and left).

How Weight Lifting Can Help Rheumatoid Arthritis

Lift weights with sore joints?

You might think weight lifting would make arthritis worse. But think again. The benefits of strength training for arthritis are just being recognized. Weight lifting can help people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) function better and reduce soreness, stiffness and pain.

A study from Great Britain shows that a strength-training program called progressive resistance training (PRT) may improve physical function in people with mildly disabling, well-controlled RA. PRT involves periodically increasing the amount of weight used during an exercise so benefits continue as muscle strength improves. read more

Sometimes I end my group classes with an additional 10 minute meditation, it depends on the crowd and our schedules. But after, we all wish we could do it every day. The benefits of meditation go beyond de-stressing, think anti-aging!! Now I've got your attention.
