The carving of the pumpkin

OK momstown Guelph  moms, time to get carving!

Normally for our family this tradition would start with a trip to the local pumpkin patch but this year the rain condensed our trip to just running out to the local store and picking up two pumpkins.  (Next year we will be up to three!)
My boy who normally will pick up worms and loves being covered in mud would not touch the pumpkin guts this year.  Instead he has daddy working hard on cleaning out the inside of his pumpkin.

The time to decide on what the face will look like.  What do you like to do with your pumpkin?  Do you get fancy?  We tend to stick to the circles and triangles, this way the kids can direct dad on how they want the pumpkin to look.  If you are looking for an alternative way to decorate your pumpkin without carving try paint!

Carving pumpkins should always include the baking of the pumpkin seeds.  Check here for 5 quick and easy ways to spice up your seeds.
